CotI Careers

It's known well enough that the CotI careers mesh well with the careers in LBB 1-3 but not with those in LBB 4-6, given the latter get both more skills and access to a greater range of skills.

I was wondering if somebody has written up expanded CotI careers to bring them up to speed with 4-6?

I wouldn't mind doing that myself at some point, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel.

Awhile back, I posted a statistical analysis of the skill yields for LBB4+ careers and LBB1/COTI careers. Probably the easiest way to approach it is to add 1-2 additional skills per term to the LBB1/COTI careers and add a roll for career "perks" like medals.

I favor reducing the effective skill yield for LBB4+ careers myself, because I think that too many skills breaks the 2d6 system. The easiest way to do it, IMHO, is to limit the number of skills per term to the number given to LBB1/COTI characters (but let the player choose which skills to keep from the skills that he rolls in the LBB4+ chargen system).

A thought...

While we Supp 4-CotI types don't get a lot of skills we do tend to get nice starship benefits on Muster out. I mean we only have to roll it once and we generally get the ship for free so that kinda balances the fact that we do get hosed on skills compared to LLB5+ careers.

On the other hand, I do wish we got more skills too. Ah well.
