CT Fanzines (Listed and Reviewed)

In browsing ebay I noticed quite a lot of CT fanzines of which I had never previously heard. I was wondering if anyone has read them and could offer comments about their quality and content. If you've heard of any others feel free to make suggestions and I'll add them to the main list.

The ones I've got:

3rd Imperium
High Passage
Space Gamer
Traveller Chronicle
Travellers Digest

As seen on ebay:

Parasec
Alien Star
Living Galaxy
Dark Star
Continuum
Alien Realms

Check out the traveller illustrated bibliography on the net. It has copies of the front pages and traveller contents for a lot of fanzines.

3rd Imperium, Far Passage, High Passage, Jump Space, Traveller chronicle and the Travellers are very good.

Traveller Times, signal GK, Between worlds, space gamer are pretty good. Note you can download copies of the space gamer from steve jackson games for a low price. Signal GK and Traveller Times can be downloaded free on the net

Got 1 issue of Darkstar and parsec - they are okay as is Variant. Continuum is alternative rules etc. so has limited use.

Alien star was a UK fanzine and actually very nice with solo adventures, and unsual ships etc.

My experience....

3rd Imperium: I liked the one issue I have (some solomani ship designs and deck plans, the Assassin for MT) - good for MT.

High Passage: Good for CT, especially in the Aslan end of the Domain of Deneb (had 3 or 4 of these)

Traveller Chronicle - Have a couple, want to get more. Liked this one, it has some TNE stuff and I think some MT stuff.

Traveller's Digest - Great magazine for MT era. I wasn't a fan of the long-running adventure arc (not my bag), but the rest of it was useful.

You may be able to find most of these online somewhere as PDF.

The others, I've not heard of. Wonder if they can be located in PDF that is purchasable?

Traveller's Digest - awesome
Traveller Chronicle - good.

Space Gamer isn't a fanzine, and isn't Traveller specific. Depending upon issue and volume, it might even be the house organ of Better Games, who did no traveller stuff. (But did do Battle Born, which is inspired in part by Traveller.)
