CT in White Dwarf Magazine

Does anyone know how I may acquire old issues (either HC or PDF) of the early White Dwarf mag which contain CT-related articles?

I've heard of a WD Archive similar to the Dragon mag archive, but copies are scarce as hen's teeth, and after looking through ebay and ebay.uk none have surfaced in a long time.

The CT-related issues are listed here.

The article from issue #11 looks very interesting. Is the CT content included in WD enough justification to continue looking for the WD archive, or is a lot of the same subject-matter contained in JTAS?

I also peruse nobleknight, but it's hit-&-miss at finding the right material.

Any suggestions welcome.

:D

You know I'm almost certain I found (rediscovered) a site by the author of a bunch of White Dwarf Traveller articles while surfing the web just this week. Let me check my bookmarks...

...ok, not sure if any of it's what you're looking for but Andy Slack did do some writing in White Dwarf which is probably what twigged my memory. Here's his home page with links on the right to download some game articles:

There were a lot of good Traveller articles and adventures in White Dwarf. Andy Slack's site will get you a bunch of them, but not everything.

Also see: http://www.2000ad.org/markus/travellers/image.php

Some of the same general topics were covered in JTAS, but articles were not repeated. The WD stuff was all original to the UK.

WD#11 was the first issue I ever bought, and that article was a big part of the reason. Weapons from Star Wars, Stainless Steel Rat, and Deathworld predominate. Blasters, Concussion Rifle, LPL Stungun, Incendiary Rifle, Anagun, the Plasma Blade, Pellet Grenades and their bracelet holder, and the Power Holster. Weapons are done in Book 1 combat format.

I'll have to pull out my old White Dwarfs to make sure, but something I didn't see in the index related to Traveller was an article they had on home-made miniatures. Among the critters they gave as examples were Dandys--a good example since it's extremely unlikely as a commercial mini.

That's my recall, anyway. I may be remembering something from a different mag from that time like Space Gamer or Alarums and Excursions.

I so agree. WD Traveller rocked. One of my favorites was a CT career path for IISS spies/covert ops. Printed in like four point on a single page. Talk about bang for the buck.

Whoever owns the rights to the WD articles could sell a compliation of the Traveller articles. I have all of them, too. They're fantastic.

You guys are killing me! :( All that praise for a mag I can't get.

It's so....*sniff*...unfair!

Thus far, I've been able to locate #2, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 10, but that's it.

I'll keep my ear to the ground and hope to snag a copy of the pdf archive.

Most of the WD Traveller stiff was great. Unfortunately, my copies went into the black where some of my Martian Metals minis went after we moved into our house in 1986. I've
only got is issue #33 which has Weapons for Traveller in it.
