I always figured if I got a proper gaming room I would, on at least one wall. Like those wallpaper murals of scenic vistas only a hexelated map of charted space instead. Please post pics when (if) you do it
I think I had figured on the poster size sectors at one point and being about 8 feet by 4 feet (iirc) so I could mount it on thin ply. Sounds like you're going with page size subsectors, yes?
The why is of course because it would look cool, and double as a game map to beat all game maps
What is that peel and place sign paper I've seen advertized lately? Might be a good option for this project. Or the regualar inkjet to vinyl peel-and-pull products. Probably cost a lot more but the result might be nicer and more moisture resistant.

yeah i have a sub-sector per page
which is a bit smaller when you trim
the margins off.. so 8.2 X 5.5 kinda
so when/IF i finish it would be about
40 feet x 18 feet...thats just a TAD
smaller then my house..LOL
it would be cool to have it at a convention..
it would be the biggest game map i have ever seen
or heard of...
i do remember seeing one once for
world war 2...by some game company
i think it was 3 strips of 3ft X 10ft
technically you could also make squad leader
or arab isreali wars endless with add on maps
one time i enlarged the starfleet battles map
to 3ft X 12ft...its kinda cool too...i tacked
it to my bed room ceiling for awhile....

I've actually been thinking of going the other way in terms of scale and blowing up District 268 so that each hex is large enough to contain a representation of an entire system. That way I could have up on the wall the following progression:
Imperium poster (sector resolution) -> Spinward Marches (mainworld resolution) -> District 268 (system details)
But a wall map of Charted Space with 1 parsec per hex would be awesome. At the size of the Spinward Marches poster I'd have to get rid of a lot of stuff in my game room to clear enough wall to put up a single domain.
