CT rules?

I have the Mongoose Dev pack, but I forget, does the Mongoose license cover the CT rules, or only their iteration of the rules?

Sorry for asking, but I'm trying to find the pack on my Hard Drive...grr...I misplaced it somewhere.

My understanding is that the Mongoose OGL covers only the Mongoose rules, and because of the exclusivity inherent in their license, you will not be able to get a license to do CT products during the term of the Mongoose license (that better be true; we withdrew our own CT line on that premise).

The Foreven license lets you use 'OTU' concepts in your stuff, but only in Foreven. Or you can file the serial numbers off and use 'alternate' concepts that look similar.

Last I heard, Avenger was the only third party able to to OTU products outside Foreven, but for various reasons we're not doing that any more.

Which means I have to buy yet another Traveller rule book. Oh well.

Thanks for the replies :)

The pocket size isn't expensive. You'll find the rules a wordier and slightly tweaked version of Starter Traveller from CT. Chargen has the additional background flavor added, combat gets some changes that are easy to cope with, and ships change some, allowing a bit more ship in the same hull.

Cool, I think the only thing I really need are how the animal encounters are formatted.

Practically identical to CT Starter. MGT adds a "planetary quirk" from a d66 list of oddities (rather short and only so-so.)

The tables have different regimes, however, so some perfectly valid CT critters are not possible in MGT RAW.

The tables are in the SRD, at least in ver 1.1 of it.

I'll have a gander.

Other than real life issues, it's really the only thing that keeps me from putting it up on the online RPG stores.
