I'm building a model of a free trader, or at least trying to, and would like to eventually "texture" it with images to make it look as real as possible.
Anyway, along these lines I was thinking of putting those black and yellow danger stripes on some sections. I want the imagery to be plausible as well as good looking, understand?
Anyway, I was thinking of where you'd put these danger stripes on a free trader's hull. It occurs me me even though I don't recall seeing it that those side cargodoors/ramps on the outer sides behind the fuel intakes would be a good place to put them since those things can lower to the ground, so you might oput danger strips there as a way of warning people who don't know about FTs not to stand near or under them.
I decided against the intake rims as those probably don't suck air in but collect atmosphere while the ship is moving.
Maybe around the thrusters and the attitude control thrusters?
I may do the airlock doors in bright green since green is the most visible color to the human eye, and likely more others since the eye evolved in water and thus adapted to the best color for seeing underwater.
