desperate for DGP!

Glen--

Guess it depends on how 'desperate for dgp' your buyer is... of course if you were looking to milk what the market would bear you'd be auctioning them on e-bay.

I know I wouldn't object to paying the cover price on any of the items mentioned. But you should soak O'Flynn, just on general principal (/me sticks tounge out at der skoopmeister
).

Seriously Glen... set what you think is a fair price and offer refusal on a first come - first serve basis. If I like - I'll buy. Just, please, don't go with the "make me an offer and if I like your price I'll sell it to you" route. I play that game enough on e-bay.

thx,

Truth be told, if I ever happen to be at a con somewhere and encounter one of those guys, I'd admire to buy 'em a couple of whatever they're drinking
I miss this team as I really appreciated the style (graphically easy to consume, editorially well laid out, gaming-wise interesting) with which they did everything.

It's too bad this fellow with whom no one can apparently conclude a deal ended up with the rights (DOH!). And I think six figure ranges are insane... if the property is 'written around' it will have a value of ZERO so therefore it might make sense to recoup SOME of his investment, even if it is less than he'd like.

Add me in for this one:

Anyone who can latch hold of:
1) A Beowulf Free Trader Mini (I have most of the others, but of course the most useful one is not among them!)
2) DGP Aliens 2: Solomani and Aslan
3) SORAG from (I think) Paranoia Press
4) Drexilthar Subsector (though this one I'm not mad to pay through the nose for)

You'll find me a ready (read: immediate and more than reasonable on price) buyer.

I've had troubles even locating #1 and #2 for sale!

You are probably pretty much hosed on the first two.

For #3, go to: http://www.securityleak.com/ they are selling it.

For #4, try SJG's Warehouse 23. Go to http://www.warehouse23.com/item.cgi?GML2980 where it looks like some are still left.

Good luck.

Grand Survey & Grand Census brought in heavy advances over Book 6: Scouts, which itself was a big leap over Book 3; and now these last two books are all that is still available.

The World Builder's Handbook and World Tamer's Handbook are almost unavailable (like GS&GC). When they are available used, they are out of my price range. I doubt I'm the only person with this problem.

Since a lot of Traveller players are heavily into worldbuilding, and GURPS: First In applies only to GURPS-style world-info, it would seem a product-niche exists for a book on this subject in CT and/or T20 mechanics rules based on the UWP.

Have ordered SORAG, off to warehouse 23. Stars for you! And mucho thanks. And my offer still stands to anyone who has the free trader or the DGP Aliens 2 for sale.

I wonder who ended up with the *MOULDS* for all the ST starships? That'd be who I should get in contact with!

They are? Where?
I didn't even know about Grand Survey/Grand Census (well except in the abstract) until you mentioned it. They seem to be DGP publications. Are there still some available from someone? I haven't seen it (and would like to obtain them too).

</font>
Whoa there boy! You are misreading him.

The "last two books" referred to are Book 3 and Book 6, NOT Grand Survey/Grand Census.

Grand Survey and Grand Census are not available easily, and certainly not inexpensively.

To answer your other question, GS/GC were CT era products done by DGP. I believe they were some of the first (if not the first) products done by DGP outside Travellers' Digest.

I have been lead to believe that the World Builder's Handbook was a MT refinement of GS/GC, but I can't state that definitively as I have none of the three.

I have all three products and yes, the World Builders Handbooks is an update of Grand Census and Grand Survey. It reprints and redoes 98-99% of the material from the earlier products. However the earlier products do have a few vital bits not seen in World Builders Handbook. The most important, IMNSHO, is below.

Grand Census (page 238) states:

To Determine if a world with native life is the homeworld of a minor race, roll 32d6 for 17+, with a DM of +3 if the wolds population digit is 6+. If the minor race roll is successful, a further roll of 15+ indicates the minor race is a minor human race.

This is a vital rule that, for some unknown reason, they didn't deign to reprint. While the referee is free to create and place her own minor races and minor human races it is important to know how frequent DGP thought they were.

That's huge! And it's getting paper clipped inside the front cover of my WBH!

Thanks for clarifying the relationship of GS/GC and WBH.

Merci buckets too for the key little ruloid (like a factoid, only related to rules...).

;)

</font>
I meant, "When Available" in relation to GS & GC, and by "and now these last two" I meant Books 3 & 6 through the FFE reprints, not GS & CC.

I was lamenting that Books 3 & 6 were all there was for CT. T20 has its system, which is part Book 3 and part Book 6. (I'm not playing or don't have the right products of MT, TNE, and GURPS, so I don't comment about them; there's only so much money to go around).

The Dragon's Trove (http://www.dragontrove.com/gdw.html) webstore currently lists both GS & GC, but for $40 each, it's beyond my price range. (Product numbers E195 & E196)

I myself had copies once, but they're . . . somewhere. I can't find them.

I've been told the same, but I also don't have WBH, and have never even seen a copy (or the World Tamer's Hanbook from TNE). And there has, to my knowledge, been nothing appreciably new since then.

Just sent an e-mail, hopefully to you, theSea.(thanks to someone else who sent it to me)

I can't find e-mail addresses on here. Are they visible or does everyone opt to not show them?
