So my first house rule: Homeworlds
BIRTHWORLDS AND HOMEWORLDS
The world on which a character is born is his birthworld. The world on which the character was raised is his homeworld. Birthworld and homeworld may be the same or they may be different.
Birthworlds and Homeworlds. Birthworlds (and homeworlds) are determined through referee assignment, deliberate selection, or random rolls against a map or list of worlds. A character born on a world with Trade Classification = Ba Barren or = Di Dieback was born at the starport.
Born In Deep Space. A very few characters are born off-world (roll 2 on 2D). Born in Deep Space on the Homeworld Knowledges Available table shows the available knowledges.
SPINWARD MARCHES HOMEWORLDS
Using a list of the 36 most Important worlds around the Spinward Marches friendly or neutral to the Imperium (Zhodani, Sword and Strend worlds removed for hostility reasons).
Homeworld Knowledges. World descriptions include Trade Classifications and Remarks (TC&R). A character receives one specified knowledge for each Trade Classification or Remark from the homeworld. For example, a character from Glisten (2036 Spinward Marches) will have Vacc Suit/Zero-G (As), Liaison/Streetwise (Hi), One Trade/One Science (In), One Trade/Survival (Na), Hostile Env/Vacc Suit (Va), and Admin/Advocate (Cp), for a total of six homeworld knowledges available.
The player inspects the character’s birthworld and determines the available birthworld knowledges. If the player is dissatisfied with the available knowledges, he may decide the character changed worlds as a child. A new world is determined to be the homeworld, and the available knowledges dictated by the homeworld are used instead.
