Duke Craig and Daibei Questions

Hey all, I am a humble game master trying to create a TNE campaign but I need some info about the Megatraveller era. Long story short, I was wondering if anyone could give me the lowdown on Duke Craig and Daibei? I don't even know which Megatravller sourcebooks to try to find to get info on them. I'm also a little broke so I was hoping someone on the boards could give me some info?

Like: Was Duke Craig a decent ruler? I get the impression from Survival Margin that he wasn't out to seize the Irridum throne, but was he a decent chap?

Any details or general background info on that region would also be greatly appreaciated.

*so as not to risk being obnoxious, I should admit that I did more or less post the same topic over at the TNE board.*

I'd stick with Survival Margin -- it seems to give the right impression. He turns out to be a decent chap indeed, whose faction is crushed from every direction by horrible, bad people... Dulinor's fleets, Lucan's Black War, the Solomani goose-steppers...

Another good source is Arrival Vengeance. I took him to be a conscientious leader trapped in a bad situation. He is surrounded by factions out for their own aims at the expense of the security of his sector.

Both Dulinor and Lucan see his sector as a source of military assets. Lucan outright sends forces in to assert power, but are repulsed. Dulinor tries a proposal at an alliance, but I do not think it amounts to much based on what I read in Hard Times.

There is the Aslan threat and of course the Solomani invasions.

Duke Craig takes the stand that sector assets are needed to defend Dabei. Sending them out of the sector who be a breach to his trust with his citizens, hence his statement: "the Imperium be damned, take care of these people."

In some ways he is a counterpart to Archduke Norris of the Domain of Deneb. Both act to the Rebellion in a similar way, the big difference being that Norris is more isolated from the action with the closure of Corridor Sector by the Vargr. Duke Craig is not isolated and Daibei has to fight for its survival until the very end.
