Exposed view of Air Fighter

I was looking at someone mock up of an air fighter, and one of the views was of the exposed side of the vehicle.

I was recently at the US Air Force Museum and actually took a panoramic photo of a jet with exposed interior (wiring/systems/etc), that allows you to zoom in on the parts.

So thought I would share an actual one with y'all

I have a number of other panoramic photos on the gigapan sight from my visit there of the exhibit halls.

Haven't been to the AF Museum in Dayton, Ohio in years, but I would highly recommend going. Besides everything else they have they also have the last B-36 Bomber, a plane of such scale that they placed in the first expansion building while it was under construction and built the rest around the plane!:oo:

Really, Wright-Patterson is really easy to get to and the last I knew the Museum was still free to get in and there is so much to see that I would give it two days if you have never been there. The only places that even come close to for the Ironmonger in all of us are the Smithsonian Aerospace and the Aberdeen Proving Grounds Museum of Tanks and artillery near Baltimore. The Russian Aerospace "museum" would be interesting before all the planes come apart from being parked outside in the Moscow weather.:(

The Strategic Air and Space Museum (formerly the Strategic Air Command Museum)
just west of Omaha, Nebraska has a B-36 also, so that is not "the last B-36".. unless it was the last off the assembly line.

Note the B-36 just behind the B-52:

Fighter cross section

Greetings !

Nice photo, of the F-86 Sabre jet. It is not an F-16, Altoman5, an air force vet should know that.
Yes, the movie S.A.C. is an excellent film. The B-47 scenes are great too !
That is all.

Fighter ID

Greetings !

Really does'nt matter, an air force vet should still the difference between an F-86 and a F-16.
That's all for now.

HRLMT I'll probably just muddy the waters further in an attempt to clear this up but here goes...

Paul (Mithras) was pointing out that Altoman5 wasn't suggesting the picture was an F-16 but:

Sentence 1: That he appreciated the picture...

Sentence 2: ...having worked on F-16's.

USAF Museum is fantastic, I agree-- I live close enough that I go every few years.

The Navy's aviation museum in Pensacola is also terrific, IMO.
