farfuture's CD

ShawnG

SOC-1
Hi new member!

I came across farfutures site the other day, and noticed they will be selling cd's of twilight 2000 material. Has this been released? it says on the site that it was to be Oct 1 date, but we all know these things change. I have also had trouble getting on the site the last couple days, any news?

Welcome aboard Shawn

The FFE is being moved to a new server, so the site will be unavailable for a while.

The T2000 CD has been pushed back IIRC, but it will be published soon. It was available for pre-order, but with the site down that could be a bit of a problem at the moment ;)

There was a hard copy T2000 reprint of the 1st Ed. rules and the first few adventures published that you might be able to find if you can't wait for the CD.

I (very) recently purchased a copy of the 2300 CD-ROM. It is available.
But that's three hundred years too late!

The last e-mail I got from Marc (16 November) said that he expected to ship by Nov 30. I took that with a grain of salt, even then.

As soon as it arrives, I'll post a review here and at the RPGHost T2K forum...

Got an update from Marc, he said it was in the mail as of December 16. So, it should come just in time for Russian Christmas.

Well, he did say "before Christmas" without specifying an exact date...

C Pождеством, everyone!

Even with the holidays, I would think we could get something through the mail in a week. Of course that doesn't take into account my personal experience with having it take two weeks to get a post from our church across town. But there's sill hope! (up till Sat anyway)

SGB - AKA Wishful Thinker for this post

Got mine, early last week. Didn't post as it arrived accidently at my neighbour's place (damn, Canada Post cannot read simple numbers) who did not deliver it until yesterday. Looks clean but I have yet to go through the entire thing. The "photos" (in the main rulebook), however, are on the darker end of the spectrum but thus far I do not see any blaring black spots like in Hard Times. Very happy with the contents, I can wait until 1.1 is released then I will have many more adventures to play around with and praying that the Finnish modules** also come with it.

**Marc is still looking for a translator...doesn't anyone on this here board have time to do a translation?

As with the MT CD, I am sure Marc is probably shipping via Media Mail, which means for folks in the US that it would be faster to walk the package from Illinois to anywhere else in the states. In a snowstorm.

I remember that last time, folks in the UK were getting theirs at least a couple weeks before I received mine.

Got mine as a small packette, with it coming air mail, postage cost: $1.83, so maybe he will do the same for US customers.

Well, how the heck is it that kafka gets his in Canada before anyone in the US? And how come mine isn't here already then! ;) I will continue my vigil at the post office and harassment of Canada Post employees!

BTW, in my experience AirMail from the US to Canada costs about the same (sometimes a little more, sometimes less) as surface mail, but it's 4-7 days vs 4-7 weeks* and includes insurance iirc so Air wins. Go figure.

* though very often it's as little as a week

And it seems I have my context mixed up, the "Finnish modules" should have been a dead giveaway. So regarding the post above and to quote, "Never mind." :D

I just checked the webpage and noticed that the CD ROM is for version 2.0. Any word if the materials for 1.0 will be available on CD ROM?

thanks

Mike

Marc just said to me, early 2007, so my realistic guess would be it will be ready for GenCon just like T5.
