Fixed Attributes in Character Generation

Are there any rules anywhere that explain how to assign Strength, Dexterity, Endurance, Intellect, Education and Social with predetermined fixed values rather than rolling for each?

In D&D there is an option like this, but I've never seen it for Cepheus Engine (or Traveller).

What would the predetermined scores be in a scenario like this?

Thanks in advance.

No, I'm not familiar w any rules for that. If you can explain something of the intent, maybe we can come up w something that will work for you.

What is the purpose of the fixed attributes, as you call them?

Do they start from assigning average values (7 in Traveller or Cepheus Engine) to each attribute, and then allow customization from that point? What determines the limits of customization? Some predetermined pool of points?

For speed of play, primarily, and also to start everyone at roughly the same level.I am also using a variant of the package-based creation system introduced in the new(ish) Traveller Companion, both for backgrounds and for careers.

I am planning to use this at a local game shop to introduce players, allowing them to create characters, but without all the rolling (again, for the sake of speed).

I'd prefer to have an array like 5, 6, 7, 7, 8, 9 ... or something like that. They are likely to have some adjustments due to the the packages as well as the "final touches" at the end.

That's a point allocation building method, not a characteristic array.

The 5, 6, 7, 7, 8, 9 is a fixed array, which is what the OP was asking for, not point build.

Is there a fixed array method in the new Mongoose Traveller Companion?

Th 567789 is s good spread for 'normal' characters, for slightly heroic/cinematic campaigns - where people often use the 3d6 drop the lowest for stats - you would be better with 67889A perhaps.
