COMMENTS
Designed as an Early warning craft and combat control center the Flagon-D has higher powered sensors than normal for this class. The trade off for the design is smaller thrusters and the loss of armor plating and internal bracing, reducing the top speed and overall defence of this class. This is not considered a limitation given that the Flagon -D SEWAC is meant to see threats long before they see it. The Sandcaster turret is also meant to enable the Flagon-D to get out of scrapes with out fighting.
The small size and high efficiency sensors make the Flagon-D a very effective set of ears and eyes for merchant convoy operations. This craft also can do yeoman duty as a COACC AWACS craft. The versatile computer, large and comfortable work-stations for the extra crew, and good sensor suite make this craft a very effective ECM/ECCM platform for a convoy or small task force.
