Three of five stars ***
Overview: as I suspected pre-publication, I disliked it, primarily for the reason I suspected in that it is too long. Burning up so many articles from a limited source guarantees an inability to turn out many future issues. Nor would I download such a giant 'zine onto hardcopy. Nor do I enjoy shuffling through mass quantities of PDF pages. Subject matter was of no interest to me either but that certainly can vary issue to issue and will always vary person to person. I believe most content was aimed at T-4 by design with CT a distant second. The philosophy behind this is explained by the editors.
The Look: As Roxette sang "She's got the look" Great visual presentation, sure beats the mimeograph look of 80's ODT 'zines.
Art Work: Very good to outstanding, the weakest piece is Andrew's Beowulf on the cover, it looks 'unfinished' in contrast to beautiful planet behind it. Reminds me of T4's artwork in general as a Foss piece appears within on Pg21.
Ships: A ship design section is included based on FIRE, FUSION AND STEEL. Unfortunately to me ships stats are worthless without accompanying gridded deck plans.
Articles: A number of various articles appear on several subjects. A very detailed account of belters and their operations. Some CT Chargen options, a detailed look at part of Massillia and MT Cavalry vehicles. All useless to me personally but individually of possible use to others depending on one's TRAV 'Verse.
Overall: A great effort, I would like to see shorter issues (24 pages approx) and will happily give fulsome praise when articles I can use are published. I saw nothing amiss in articles and will leave that to 'specialists' in the individual spheres of interest.
