There is another quetsion.

MT has a bellow rule.
"Fuel-n : Current fuel is reduced by n% of toral fuel capcity(at least 10tons)"

A 100dt ship with 50dt Fuel was hit 3 of Fuel-1.
Which is right?
1. The ship lost 30dt Fuel(3*10 of at least 10tons).
2. The ship lost 10dt Fuel(at least 10tons)

A 100dt ship with 50dt Fuel was hit 1 of Fuel-3.
Which is right?
1. The ship lost 30dt Fuel(3*10 of at least 10tons).
2. The ship lost 10dt Fuel(at least 10tons)

A 100dt ship with 50dt Fuel was hit 3 of Fuel-1.
1. The ship lost 30dt Fuel(3*10 of at least 10tons).
Each hit is 50t x 1% = 0.5 tons with a minimum of 10 tons.
Three hits x 10 tons each = 30 tons

A 100dt ship with 50dt Fuel was hit 1 of Fuel-3.
2. The ship lost 10dt Fuel(at least 10tons)
Each hit is 50t x 3% = 1.5 tons with a minimum of 10 tons.
One hit x 10 tons = 10 tons

A 10,000dt ship with 5000dt Fuel was hit 3 of Fuel-1.
Each hit is 5000t x 1% = 50 tons.
Three hits x 50 tons each = 150 tons.

3 times it loses the minimum 10, for total 30. (note that a fuel-3 hit woud be only 10 tons)

Or, to show the work (it's always good to show the work):

A 100dt ship with 50dt Fuel was hit 3 of Fuel-1.

50dt Capacity x Fuel-1% = 0.5dt Fuel (minimum 10dt) = 10dt reduction in fuel per hit. So total for 3 hits is 30dt reduction in fuel.

A 100dt ship with 50dt Fuel was hit 1 of Fuel-3.

50dt Capacity x Fuel-3% = 1.5dt Fuel (minimum 10dt) = 10dt reduction in fuel total.

The following is a HOUSE RULE (NOT OFFICIAL):

Of course my argument is some of that fuel capacity may already be empty when hit and no fuel loss occurs but capacity is reduced. So I divide my fuel tankage up into discreet "n" units.

A 100dt ship with 50dt fuel would have 5 fuel units (n=1% of fuel capacity or 10dt minimum same as damage). So the ship has 5 fuel areas. An area may be empty or full. An area may be hit multiple times in which case additional capacity is not lost.

Using the first example above:

A 100dt ship with 50dt Fuel was hit 3 of Fuel-1.

Hit 1 is rolled as area 1 which is empty. The ship loses no fuel but capacity is reduced 10dt.

Hit 2 is rolled as area 3 which is full. The ship loses 10dt of fuel and capacity is reduced another 10dt for a total capacity loss of 20dt.

Hit 3 is rolled as area 1 again. The ship loses no fuel or additional capacity.

At the end of this combat the ship has lost 10dt and it's fuel capacity is reduced to 30dt until repairs are made.

This is a good house rule - Mind if I borrow for MTU?
(Can't understand why I haven't thought of this before)

You can use the same method for cargo areas or even other things
(50dton of cargo capacity could be 2 - 25dton bays...)

Can you hit a weapon battery that has already been destroyed??
Lots of possibilities with this

Not at all, enjoy the (marginal) extra book-keeping ;)

And yes I do it for carried cargo (percentage) and vehicles/craft (numbers) too.

And turrets/bays by numbers. To answer your question in CT that's how it worked and source of the house rule:

Turrets:

...In cases where multiple hits occur on a ship with more than one turret, roll dice to determine randomly which turret or turrets are hit. A turret may be hit more than once, while another may not be hit at all.

Thank you

Thank you very much many answer and house rules.

We Japanese also discuss same questions.
And we wanted to confirm our results.

I'm very glad to get your answer.
:)
