Fusilier!

Been on something of A New Era kick recently.

Got out my copy of Space Viking and Path of Tears and building a civilsation from the ruins and stuff.

And for me, that means bad doodling!

See my interpretation of a Coalition destroyer:

With a Star Viking crew that six thousand tons is the most potent human controlled warship in the wilds for several years.

And a Belladonna longship:

Ah well. I'm getting better, I really am, and posting them helps me finish my doodle.

Heck, I liked your sketches. I always prefer streamlined, shark-like starships over clunky shoebox-basketball-flashlight abominations. I love the old Azhanti High Lighting cruisers: if only they weren't so damned ugly.

Cool. Bad doodling my eye, it rivals (ok maybe its even better ;) ) the best I recall being able to draw when I used to try my hand at sketching. I should have kept working at it and I recommend you do, that way we get to see more cool ship art ;)

Thanks for the look into your sketchbook

They may be doodles but they're really good. They're more appealing to me than some of the drawings that appeared in CT Sup:9 "Fighting Ships."

Agreed! Excellent work ... I'd love to see more, or even those ones inked in. Traveller could use some new ship ideas, and what you've got here shows a lot of promise.

Your doodles are much better, IMHO, than alot of the "artwork" in the Fighting Ships supplement. I have been a starship man for decades, and love they myriad designs.

Yours are Good!

Wow, really nice drawings. It'd be wonderful if you had a broadsheet/catalog of such drawings...

Sweet pixs on the RCNS Fusilier and RCS Belladonna. I ran an adventure to Sufren with the Bella..that fits my idea to a "Tee"--Please pursue this drawing habit further!

Slainte! :D

Stars fer you!!!

Erik--

I really like those two sketches. The one of the Belladonna reminds me of the SEH cruiser from Book 9, which got republished elsewhere, but was a nice elegant design.

That's not the way I intended for her to look, she would have been more the way you drew the Fusilier, with a blended airframe, but with larger, more extended batwings and chines.

But I like the look that you created. It would be worth creating that as a Group V clipper, the Maggart spine but streamlined for self-refueling. Either an RC design or something one of the individual world navies financed on its own.

I'll also chime in.

Those sketches are fantastic! That could have easily appeared in any Traveller Book.

If you can find a fire of inspiration, then by all means, more!

More organic than I envisioned (or reminiscent of the little counters in Battle Rider) but still pretty cool.
