Just in case you don't visit Random Static on principle (and I know some of you have them) I'm reposting here as well an idea a friend had that's begun to spread. GaryCon, a small tribute to E.G.G.

By now most of you have seen the news about Gary Gygax.


I suggest that as a way of honoring Gary Gygax we have a "GaryCon" across the globe this Friday and Saturday night.

By "We" - I mean every gamer possible who plays RPGs. Everywhere.

All of us play either Dungeons & Dragons this Friday and Saturday night

-OR-

We play the RPG rules system of our choice - but we do a typical D&D-type dungeon crawl. ...either Friday or Saturday night.

Everywhere....every city or town possible.

Let the rolling of our dice thunder our appreciation and honour Gary by spending time enjoying the company of friends in the pastime he largely made what it is.

Post back here after the weekend and regale us with tales of your game if you'd like. Or just reminisce about past games if you can't get one going this weekend.

Yes, thanks Far GTrader, I checked up my local Meetup Group - there is alot of memorial games going on. So those with Meetups near them should do the same.
