I have reread the entire project from beginning to end, all the little ideas and all the big ideas.looked at all the suggestions and the offerings. this thing has taken on a life of its own!! In literly a couple of days and nites the "hard core" has put somthing togather worth while. Guess what??? I SEE IT!!, I SEE THE BOOK!!!
its there!!, inside all that mass of information!!!
Once again I caution!!!...Keeep it simple and Playable!!!
:D

Re-Hash - what I am getting so far.

#1. Planet Type
#2. Geography, location on planet and what port is built on, i.e. sand, rock, supports, float, ect, ect.
#3. Physical charecteristics, small, medium, large.
#4. Tech Levels.
#5. Exactly what is offered at port.
#6. Actual physical layout, i.e. where blds and services are located in the confines of Port.
#7. add people and aliens.

all to be broken down into chapters and headings
and tables.
O'yeah....the book is there!!!, right in front of us!!!

I, too, am amazed at how fast this whole thing has come together. It reminds me of an Amish barn raising.

Kudos to everyone involved.

Re-hash again, added to above, more detail.

#1. Planet type, water world, desert, mountain, mixed, forests. Atmosphere.
#2. Geography. port near water (lakes & streams), oceans, mountains, flat, inland.
#3. physical harectoristics (size of port), old, new port, shabby.
#4. Tech Levels. low medium high mixed
#5. exactly what is offered at port. good or shoddy services.
#6 Add people & aliens - also add animals as necessary,
#7. Government., good or bad

I see the need for a "work sheet" or "form" in the back of the book so we can "keep" our ports as we build them!!!

In fact, TJ, I've see the need for two forms (no, I not just trying to complicate things  ;) ). The first is a worksheet for generation and detailing of the UPFS, and the second is a Ports of Call Database form - with room for several completed Starports, their UPFS and a brief narrative. GMs could then use the second form as their port database, and actually share it with the players as a reference (as far as players are concerned UPFSs would be a commercially available resources that may develop some inaccuracy over time ;) like TAS Bulletins).

You know what would be a fun thing - - dedicate the book to all the contributers. Thn list everbody by their ON LINE Traveller Forum NAME--
Now that would look GREAT!!! And everyone would be able to say - There I am and have BRAGGING RIGHTS also!!!!
:D ;)

*** Good suggestion,<nods at AA>, let us not forget that almighty time lag of J-space & news wearing old by the time Players get to their destinations! Very good reminder AA!!!

Kudos indeed..and we're still brainstorming out the ideas..Gentlemen, pat yourselves on the backs cuz yer doing wonders! ladies, don't be shy! Plenty of room for ideas from you who GM as well!!!

Now, TJ actually has a good idea here (trying, at least, to leave this fight in Random Static).

This may be complicating things, but allow me to suggest a notation on the size of the port.

again i didnt know wher to put this. its old tech, still VERY practical, it can be update ALL the time!!, pressurized, ect ect.
It can be used for "anything" and it has been used for "everthing"

Its the original "conex"
think about this design-----

THE QUONSET HUT!!!!

Originaly invented in WWII
whole citys have been made out of these!!
check internet!!
;)

up dated Quonset huts could be used for those newly opened frontier planets and those NASTY ROCK BALLS,military bases, the list just goes on and on

Umm, try featuring them on the page of "fleshing it out, TL-7 or less (yes, even a pressurized prefab set of buildings can be done at TL-7!), But also on breathable worlds where fast cheap/ materials maybe needed in its initial inception (see Thrash's post on these page in anothe thread covering life of a starport.. from GT: Starports- a condensed view)
