Generation Ships

I had the a Gen Ship launched by an extranational cartel in 2085 (the year before stardrive theory was developed) towards Alpha Centauri, arriving ~2300. Obviously the PC's ship is the one to make first contact.....

As a matter of fact, no. But I always wanted to run a campaign where the characters would be living, without knowing, in a generation ship. Did anybody try it yet? If yes, how much time the players took to uncover what was really happening?

Recently, I had a chance to re-watch The Matrix wouldn't it be great, if at the same time the players were locked in Suspended Animation whilst some Braindance programme was operational, only to find that reality is a mulileveled thing?
