DP stood for "Dread Pirate"... his backstory included being wanted by the Ziru Sirkaa... for Piracy. He later had to flee the marches due to destroying the glass in the major port city on Psaydi... by doing a 300m mach 4+ flyby... in order to recover certain members of his crew.

"Like trying to comb an Aslan's mane" - when you end up a bloody mess despite your best intentions
"Smiling like a Vargr" - when someone is deceivingly dangerous or generally up to no good
"Reeks like an Aslan outhouse (litterbox)" - when something smells exceptionally funky
"Faster than a snot greased Sulie" - really fast
