Ladies and Gentlefolk,
Let me introduce myself I am the owner/slave for www.gnometrader.com
I am sorry that Dalton Calford has had trouble purchasing this wonderfully unique piece of software but as is been previously explained by "Hemdian" in this thread ITS WAS COMPLETE CHAOS HERE (need sleep), DONT PANIC (in big friendly letters) normality has now been restored therefore any issues you are experiencing are entirely your own .
But seriously I am sorry that from receiving your 1st email in my inbox on 22/2/03 it has taken 8 days to get a downloadable version of "Universe". Incidentally the payment for this product was received on Thu 02/03/2006 14:41 and the upload was available some 6 hours later. I agree that in today’s modern world of instant gratification 6 hours is a long to wait.
I run this business to support the community and we have day jobs to pay for luxuries such as FOOD, WARMTH and A ROOF OVER OUR HEAD ( although that pond edge does look comfy). I look forward to continuing to support our hobby and slay more Zhodani with Betsy.
PHINGNOME
Hi Phingnome,
My first attempt to contact you was on January 9th, after getting back from Texas, it was one of the first items on my todo list.
I used your online contact form to find out availability as your website told me to contact you concerning the availability of the software.
When I did not receive any word back from your company, I again contacted you on the 16th and again on the 23rd.
Seeing no change in the website, nor hearing back from you, I finally contacted Andy at Bits to find out how to purchase the product. That was on February 15th. Andy was kind enough to respond on the 16th stating that he will attempt to contact someone.
On February 21st, I recieved a response from Peter who I now understand is the author.
I responded to Andy, thanking him, and sent emails to the sales email address at gnometrader.
I had still not recieved any response and I sent another email on the 28th of February.
By March 1st, I came onto these forums and put out a call for help. In doing so, I found another method of contacting you via Peter. Unfortunately, by this time, my two month window of safety went out the window. I was down to my last few days before a online player game was to begin. When I recieved Peters response, I purchased the software and responded back to him with transaction/confirmation numbers within 16 minutes of his original message to me. The time of his original message was 9:13 am my time which would put it mid afternoon in England. I was assuming that he was messaging from work vs. from home due to the time of the original message. Given the time of the response, (9:29 my time, 16 minutes later) I was thinking that he would be in the same situation/location he was in when he made the first message.
Now, I understand you had some server problems. Nowhere on your site was this apparent. I understand from various correspondance that your 'contact us' web form is faulty, but, no other method was presented to contact you. I as a customer had to become extreamly pushy, just to buy your product, not alot of customers would have gone to this extent.
I was faced with two months of no response from you, without any indication as to why.
I was faced with a 'contact us' note without further explanation, giving me concern if the product would ever be available.
Going to the developers web site (after a bit of hunting to find it) I see that the last forum entry concerning product development is over a year old.
On the day I started this forum, the developers web site was totally broken.
Now, on Monday, I will have the montreal office do an extensive scan of all the accept/reject records for the past few months to see if there are any attempts from your side that where blocked. If there where, I appologize for that, but, from my standpoint, I had also sent my gmail address in many of the emails sent to sales and 'contact us' so I could not understand why I had no contact back from you.
I have a complete record of all the emails I have sent, the email server logs, and smtp logs so if you have a problem with your email server I am more than happy to work with you to solve the problem.
Since on the day I placed the order, I recieved an email from your domain (your order process daemon I would assume) within seconds, I do not see the problem residing with filters on my end.
Now, I am posting this letter as a final statement on this subject.
1.) Everything Breaks, I am sorry to hear of your server problems. I can fully relate to the issue.
2.) Life Happens - Congradulations on the new addition to your family.
3.) Once contact had been made, and the situation cleared up, everything went well. Communication is a wonderful tool.
4.) I would recommend the Universe software. I have some scripts I wish to add and I will send them along to Peter if he wants them.
I would recomend that you set up a download only option for the software.
Best regards
Dalton
