GunMaker system question

T5 contains a GunMaker system, where you start with a basic pistol or rifle or larger weapon, then add modifiers for features like Laser, Gauss, Heavy or Light, and also modifiers for Tech stages (advanced, experimental, precision, etc).
I recall seeing a similar version in a CT product, or maybe it was in a HIWG document. Does anyone know where that was?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I believe that the Book 10 is the one I remember. And I still have it on my flash drive, along with all the other Traveller materials I've kept over the years (over 20 GB worth of stuff). Had this Book 9 since 2006, and the Book 10 since early 2007!

Thanks very much for pointing me to this!

And that's actually closer in feel to FFS/FFS2 than GunMaker. As soon as I see "Step 1: design the ammunition" or talking about kilojoules discharge energy in laser design, I know we're in Fire, Fusion, and Steel territory.

Actually, the first step in any Real World gun design is to select the ammunition to be used, or design the ammunition to be used if the weapon is intended for more of a wildcat cartridge or a new cartridge, like Smith and Wesson did with the 10mm round and the .40 round.
