Have you tried "Alone Among The Stars"?

Alone Among The Stars is a writing game that could pair well with Traveller's exploration.

I tried it out. It's definitely a writing exercise. And you use one six-sided die and a deck of cards to figure out what you do and where you're at.

My first try is below.

Ship's Log #18765.

After several attempts, I finally made it up the Duscan Mountains.

At it's snowy peak, I found several snow roses. I carefully put one in a stasis box, looking forward to the Imperial Credits I'm going to get from selling it.

After making sure there's no contamination from the microbes that create the Snow Rose I left planet c37-1254.

I may give this a try with my 9 yo. He's not into this kind of game at all, but...
