General Have you turned the Ship's Computer into an NPC?

way back we used the Paranoia Press Merchants & Merchandise book and my ex-Scout got rewarded with a 200dt Scout ship (so it could actually fit in all the stuff) and a TL-17 AI that took after Marilyn Monroe in terms of how she spoke. Yeah, well, we were a bunch of 18–19-year-olds! she was pretty protective of my character and would deactivate his prosthetic legs sometimes to make him listen (flavors of Six Million Dollar Man; the ship and legs were a gift after doing something that about got him killed, though 40+ years later I've no idea what he did). She was effectively an NPC that both I and the ref played.

I've done that in my last campaign, but with the computer as a Virtual Intelligence rather than being a full AI.

In our pocket empires game we talked about whether this was a feature or not, but decided against it given attitudes after the virus.

Great series... but they're "shells" - humans with major birth defects, placed into a capsule, and connected to the ship, or ground vehicle, or city...
