High Guard 1st edition

It does bug me that Noble Knight use stock photos for everything. When you're buying second hand, you need to see what you're buying (IMO), so my shop (www.shopontheborderlands.co.uk) has photos of every copy of every product in stock.

The original unrevised Book 5 seems to be very rare. We have four CT High Guards in stock in a range of conditions, but they are all the revised version. http://www.shopontheborderlands.co....book-5-softback-sourcebook-classic-traveller/

There was a UK-printed version of Book 5 published by Games Workshop (i.e. not GDW), and which I think wsa marked as 'Games Workshop' on the cover. Can anyone confirm this? And was this edition a reprint of the revised or the original version?

Sounds like you are looking at eBay seller "Noble Knight". They ALWAYS list every book 5 as a 1st edition and they nearly NEVER are. Usually, when I've tried to buy what they claimed was a 1st edition it was really a 2nd. They use a "stock photo" and verbiage.

I have an extra copy of 2nd edition High Guard. PM me with any offer/request.
Thanks, Vladika, will do.

mpoles, I've just had a look at two copies I have on my bookshelf, the 1979 (1st edition rules) version is the licensed UK reprint by Games Workshop, but that's indicated by their name and London address on the indicia page (and it is the dimensions of the original LBBs, not the slightly taller ones at the time of 2nd edition High Guard, Book 6, etc.) It still says Game Designer's Workshop at the bottom of the front cover. I have another copy on the shelf in my front room but my little daughter's asleep there so I can't check it 'til tomorrow. I've a feeling that's a first edition from Games Workshop as well.
