How about this for an imperial noble revolver?

I still think that by the 51st century any decent style-loving noble will want a gauss pistol, or an autopistol/advanced combat pistol for style. Revolvers would be seen as passe' by then.

Yeah, maybe...but in a universe that seems to emphasize a lot of tradition with regards to swords and the skill to use them I don't think the revolver is a stretch when worn as part of some formal get up. For everyday use a more practical combat pistol is more reasonable but for going out to a black tie affair, court appearances, or ceremonial duties a revolver might be suitable.

Besides, a noble might reasonably be accompanied by a retainer or two, which would be armed to the teeth if the situation required it, so the weapons carried by the noble would be superfluous.

In my TU the Noble's Magnum comes in one look, two flavours. All are Irridium framed Revolvers with a Crystal Iron core frame. Grips are an Ivory type with the Imperial crest on one side, and the Noble's Crest and devices on the other, it is treated to have a high shine yet offer a positive grip. The cylinder has a 5mm Irridium sheath covering a Crystal Iron cylinder, 6 rounds. All are given extensive scroll work particular to the house and holder's history and service. Inspecting a Noble's magnum will tell volumes about the holder.

The cartridges are where the difference lies, 10mm Magnum, or necked down from 12mm 10mm Imperial Magnums.

I have a noble who carries a standard autopistol with well worn grips and when drawn you can see the marks where it has seen much use. And she carries this pistol everywhere even to Court Appearances. And she has the reputation of being a fast draw and accurate shooter.

She has a pistol skill of 6

And she carries this pistol everywhere even to Court Appearances...

If you run a 'canon' universe, isn't it against Imperial Law (and custom, perhaps) to carry ANY sort of weapons in the presence of the Imperial Family?

Assuming by 'Court' you mean the Imperial Court, of course... ;)

Just curious. Sounds like a fun character.

Well she is a Marquesa and is next in line to rule her Sub-Sector. So the imperials don't really want to do much to irritate her family since their tech level in that sub-sector is 17.

Not by high nobles. In fact, the archdukes are required to be armed in the presence of the emperor.

Well in a recent game another nobel tried to draw on mine during a get together. This was after repeated warnings that if she drew his family would be getting a new Baron. . .

They had a new Baron two minutes later. And the old one was on the floor with two rounds in his chest and one in his head.
