How do you take it.....?

Caffine that is. Me, I take a 32 oz mug of hot tea first thing in the am to get me started. Followed by additional tea during the day. I am trying to cut back on sodas since I want to lose some weight.

In order of preference:

Iced Tea- No sugar, just lemon
Hot Tea (both very strong)-sugar and lemon
Coke or Dr. Pepper
RC Cola
Coffee (if I can't get anything else)

Desperate times: Red Bull energy drink

Tea in the morning, weak with 2 sugars and lots of milk. Then water all day long. Especially at the moment with hot temperatures and drinking 14 glasses of water a day.

I don't.

I used to down 2-3 large cups of coffee a day. Then about a year ago my wife gave up caffeine because we were planning on having our fourth child and she figured it'd be healthier. Well, I couldn't let her think she was the only one with any willpower! :D

First, I did half caff/half decaf for a while, knowing that completely dropping the stuff causes horrible headaches and other withdrawal symptoms. After about two months, I dropped it altogether. No coffee, no Coke. An occasional ice tea, so I'm not completely obsessive!

I have no idea if I'm healthier or not. Don't feel any different. But hey, it's one less chemical I'm putting into my body so that can't be all bad! :D

I get through 50 Earl Grey tea bags per week on my own, also 80 bags PG Tips with guests, and about 500g of Lavazza coffee.

I like my tea strong, hot and in a pint mug.

Cup of coffee when I get to work in the morning. Soda either at lunchtime or mid-afternoon. Another soda either at dinner or mid-evening (or sometimes both). Usually not all of these on any given day, but if I haven't had at least 1 or 2 fixes I find myself noticeably tired by about 5-6pm. Back in my reckless gaming youth we used to down 2-liters of Coke, Mountain Dew, and strawberry soda (a local Southern Indiana brand called Nesbitt's) like water, keeping us all well-wired until about 5am.

I just bought a mega expensive espresso machine (despite being on the edge of bankruptcy!) in order to have the coffee taste of the office in the early hours of the morning (For some strange reason espresso reminds me of the taste of £$£$£$£$£$£$£$£$£$£$£$)

ITS AWESOME - Caffine a-hoy!

Also I take a diet coke break (because I like the drink, not to look at guys).

Also being English and working in an honourable profession I have a darjeeling or an Earl Grey in a Wedgewood cup and saucer at 4 - but no cucumber sandwich (although I like those alot).

When I wasn't watching my blood-pressure:

Code Red Mountain Dew (or regular if I couldn't get the Code Red)

Hot Chocolate powder mix using straight coffee instead of water.

Green Tea (I think it has caffine)

Later,

Scout

It's said tea gets stronger as you go north, people should learn to take the bag out....

Tea, milk, 1.5 sugars, about a dozen cups a day, or Guinness, several pints of if it's available.

In my salad days it was coffee and tea, and the occassional soda, for me! Nowadays the salad has browned and I am stumbling through the soup course. No more drinks of a stimulating nature these days. Water, friut juice, and punch tops the lists of libations. And let's not talk about the no more liquor!! Oh well, just staying hydrated!

About six cups of coffee (filtered, the best combination of healthiness and taste), black one sugar sustain me through the working day. Due to a strange phase at university whilst giving up smoking (the first of three attempts so far; current one has lasted eighteen months so far thank god) I acquired a savage aspartame habit, so around a litre of Diet Coke each evening.

And now I'm depressed by the thought of all the horrible chemicals I keep guzzling... :(

Today: 2 l/day ice tea, 4x12 oz Coke Clasic

Working 12 oz Coke classic, 3 l/day brewed ice tea

Working at MS (free drinks)
3x12 oz Coke Classic
2x12 oz canned Nestea (YUCH!)
2 l brewed ice tea

In college 2 l brewed ice tea, 1x 2liter Coke Classic
Finals
or game night: 2 l brewed ice tea, 2-3 2l Coke

Ice tea is brewed from Luzianne or Salada, Lipton or Tetley if I have to.

I'm rather partial to Earl Gray myself (even being a yank)... although I also take coffee on occasion. MANY, MANY cups a day.

When I actually feel the need to shiver a bit, there's always chocolate covered espresso beans from Starbucks et al.

My Friend IceCat (who hasn't posted just yet) is rather fond of the flavoring syrup used to make Mountain Dew (that would be BEFORE the soda water mix in the fountain machines).

Yep... we have REAL interesting game sessions!

Coffee: typically four to twelve cups per day.
Preferably Celobese, Mocha Java, Sumatra, or Kenya AA.
Sugar: three lumps. Milk: just a wee bit.

Hot Tea: occasionally (not nearly as often as I like).
Preferably Twinings' Darjeeling, Ceylon Breakfast, English Breakfast, Irish Breakfast, Earl Grey, Lady Grey, or Prince of Wales.
Loose leaf whenever possible (teabags as a last resort).
Sugar: three lumps. Milk: just a wee bit.

Coca Cola or Dr Pepper: three to six bottles per day unless iced tea is available.

Caffeine pills: once in my life. Never again!

Okay...confession time...

I'm one of the rare police officers in the USA that DOES NOT drink coffee, tea, or much of anything caffienated!

Shocking...but true...

I am not much of a donut eater either...I prefer cinnamon rolls :D

I grew up in a traditional Latter Day Saints (Mormon) family which frowned on stimulants of any kind. I converted to Catholicism when I married my wife but I just don't seem to have the inclination to start imbibing the stuff...

Oh well...pass me the lemonade...

PS: My lovely wife is addicted to Cherry Coke and Cherry 7UP...now there is this insidious concoction at the local store called "Fusion" which is some sort of cherry flavored DR Pepper. Poor lass is completely enthralled with this brew. She may need an intervention and deprogramming! ;)

iced tea mostly, or hot tea (b/p blend), diet coke, milk (for the heatburn... ;) )... and the standby ICE water..in any size up to 32oz...and unless I'm gaming, not after 8:00pm....

and I must be the only guy that ever got near the military (I was BOTH USCGR and USN) that never took up coffee or smoking coffin nails....beer, on the other hand, WELLLL, that's another story

all you gents from england - question - what are the strongest and best(?) commercial teas in England that may be availiable in the states?? i used to drink engine room coffie that had blue oil floating on the surface!! so thick and dark you had to cut it with a knife. i know that is an old description, but still is true. my tasts have now changed and i realy enjoy good tea!! and i consider Lipton as rubbish!!! thank you.
