How do you take it.....?

Got a good buddy with this problem, he also cannot eat chocolate after about 10 am in the morning for the same reason. I live on Caffine, and have been known to mainline Red Bulls if needed.

Caffiene intolerant, here. Can't drink it without getting the shakes and saying good-bye to my ability to sleep for 24-36 hours. Not in a happy way, either.

My favorite clod drinks are orange juice, Diet Coke, lemonade, ginger ale, raspberry ginger ale, root beer and water, in that general order. My one and only hot drink is HOT COCOA!

Even if it is fattening (too bad I don't have Honor Harrington's metabolism...).

Somehow I never got into coffee or tea...

Caffine? What's that? Never acquired a taste for coffee or tea (or smokes either, even during or after a tour of Vietnam '69-'70 as a Marine). Thirty-one years in law enforcement and still never touch the stuff. Give me a caffine-free diet Pepsi any day! :D

My wife is allergic to caffiene. If she takes even a sip of a drink with caffiene in it, it will give her painful bowel distress for two-three days.

I've never developed a taste for coffee. I like the smell, but never drink it. I get my caffiene from sodas, usually Dr Pepper. If I really want to wake up or stay awake, I drink Mountain Dew. I also drink iced tea.

I don't mean to sound like Trader Jim(no offense) but cafine, more to the point COFFEE, is a holy and sacred thing not to be messed about with, boys and girls.

One cup of drip in the morning, one in the evening (if necessary). I like the Iced coffee with condensed milk you can find in Vietamenese resturants with my dinner.

Few years back my team mates banned my consumption of Red Bull. Appears I aggressively controlled the car radio. Left one of them with a welt over his ear(while he was driving). The other one waited till I was "down" before trying to talk to me rationally. Funny thing though, I don't remember striking him.

Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

One cup of STRONG Coffee in the morning for me (I use a splash of non-dairy creamer), and then about 4 Diet Cokes throughout the rest of the day. I made the switch to Diet from Classic Coke when my waist-line started increasing in about my mid-20's. All the caffeine and None of the sugar!!

A cup of tea in the morning, it's easier to make, then a large mug of HOT, BLACK coffee as soon as I arrive at work. Maybe 2 or 3 more the rest of the day.

I like a cup of tea after dinner too and have a nifty little teapot with a built-in strainer that makes a nice 'cuppa'.

Now that the sun has reappeared here in the woods, I've been making sun tea every weekend. No sugar, only lemon rinds in the jug.

In 1984 off Kamchatka, I had to give up java for a week after I got the shakes and couldn't fill out my logs neatly enough. I was standing feed pump watch and could only leave them for brief periods of time. Most of the others in the engineroom congregated around the TG workbench, so feed pumps was lonely and boring. Drinking java was something to do. I don't know how much coffee I was pouring down my neck but the amount eventually affected me.

I continue to bewilder that Gen-X types manning the various coffee bars hereabouts by ordering a 'cup of coffee' instead of the triple-whipple-dipple-half-double-caf-fruitbat-pogo-stick they have as the daily special.

Oddly enough, I can drink a mug of Earl Grey and still conk out as soon as my pointy head hits the pillow.

Pfaugh! Coffee Philistines! COKE!!! Coca- Cola! The Real Thing!! I believe that your Terran "Santa Claus" owes his coloration to this, the best of all beverages... Can your Foul, Brackish, dishwater make the same claim? I think not! Coke is self contained, and needs no landfill-stocking "Coffee Culture" to exist...

BOW DOWN BEFORE THE POWER OF COKE!!!

In response to the above poster's *substance* (which can dissolve things much like Trader Jim's CJ like a steak in 24hrs), and compared against the immortal, and eternal product of the coffee bean...

NEVERRRRRRRR!!!!

FIE ON COKE! FIE! FIE!! FIE!!!

an unrepentant Coffee heretic,

Tried a Monster drink and had the jitters all afternoon...

Had one of the things when they first came out, I was tired and still had a bit of a drive to go and the gas station had them, you never know what kind of muck you might get for coffee, so I figured it'd be a good time to try it. It worked, gave me enough quick pep to finish the trip, I can't say it tasted great though. No jitters or anything, just a bit more alertness. But since then not as much kick for me. Same for coffee, it's a good drink, but there must be something wrong with my system, caffeine just doesn't do much to me anymore, up or down. For any noticeable effect it's gotta be stand-up-the-spoon or dissolve it strong. Could be the decades of consuming it I suppose :)

< Picard voice > Coffee, strong black, hot.

Occasionally something fancy, a good Espresso or Cappuccino but they can be hard to find. Now I've got a nice little Kuerig for Christmas so I'm fast getting spoiled, so many choices and no waiting :D

caffine, sugar and Traveller

Double espresso and a Pop Tart for breakfast, One Diet Coke with lunch and Two Diet Cokes during the evening. And my Quack of a doctor recommended I cut back on the Caffeine; the nerve of some people!

My co-workers once banned me from drinking Red Bull, ever again. Their claims of ruthless brutality are undocumented and wholly out of character for me...that and I have no memory of about 15 minutes of that shift. And trust me when I tell you that the fact that I have stayed away from it ever since is merely a coincidence.
