How many of us are there?

define "player"

I would love to play in a game or ref a game, but cannot find anyone else, so I fiddle with Striker and Ship Designs, detail NPC's etc. (pretty much throughout the last 15 years)

is that "playing"?

Me in a nutshell (minus Striker), until 2-1/2 years ago, when I discovered a younger (long lost??) cousin was also a gamer. (I'm the 'elder' of the group, at 47.)

My current group was of 4, now 5 (including the ref), though we're currently engaged in a 'Top Secret' military campaign set in Iraq, 2012.
Meanwhile I work on the Gateway Domain...

I spent a decade like that (esp with Striker and LBB5 designs) until I belatedly discovered CotI on the internet, followed by Yahoo Groups. From there I got involved with Play by Post games, and that's where I'm at now. And having more fun than solo. Try it. :)
BTW, yeah, I still considered myself as playing Traveller.

Period 10 Apr to 10 May: 900 active users
Have posted same period: 253 (included in active total)
Have been banned, same period: 42 (none included in above numbers)
Have been blocked from registration for suspicion of robospammers: over 1000

So 647 users have been active but not posted.

And I'm guessing there are way more Traveller customers than there are active members here. I know 5 (maybe 6) people that have been buying Traveller books (not PDFs) that don't even know about this forum site. I can probably find more people if I specifically looked. And that's just me. So I'm sure other members here know others that are into Traveller.

2001

More than 10 years ago I started a group of players in TNE.
I invited boys and girls ages 14 to 21 from my Boy Scout Venture Crew 155 (I was the Charter organization representative for the crew and an assistant Scoutmaster for the Boy Scout troop our church sponsored). I had 8 join me and we met for an hour twice a week at the church for 6 months.
They may not be regular players today but I am sure they remember and perhaps they even think about playing again from time to time.
We stopped playing because some had to start college in another state and then I had to move away also.
Good times those were.
