Perusing Book 8 Robots and the question occurs while we can rate a robot's strength, but how much can it lift?

What is the configuration of the robot? What does it have in the way of manipulative equipment? Is it basically an automated forklift truck, or something else? Is it equipped with counterweights to compensate for very heavy material?

In other words, it is not as easy to define as you would like to think.

Well that begs the question, how much can a human lift at X STR rating?

Well, given Str 15 and a couple levels of powerlifting skill...

World record is 455kg. which is 30.333*15...

Strength × 1: Load in kilograms that may be carried more than five minutes to all day and considered unencumbered.
Strength × 2: Load carried for more than five minutes to all day but considered encumbered. When a character is encumbered with a Strength × 2 load, subtract 1 from the character’s Strength, Dexterity, and Endurance.
Strength × 3: Load carried by a character in active military duty for more than five minutes to all day but considered encumbered. When a character is encumbered with a strength × 3 load, subtract 2 from the Strength, Dexterity, and Endurance.
Strength × 5: Load carried under five minutes.
Strength × 10: Load lifted (not carried) under one minute.
Strength × 15: Load dragged for less than five minutes.
We cab probably use 1 CT round for lift at ×15 (1/5 of 1 minute..)
And maybe Str × 20 for 2 seconds.

How do we get to the real world x30? Powerlfiting skill! Say, roll 5+additional multiplier or higher on 2d6 + powerlift. So, needing an addition +10× Str, that's a 12+ on powerlifting.

(Now to go add powerlifting to my house rules)...

What do you call a robot and what's its strenght limit?

A port crane that could work autonomously (even if in CT:LL8 lanugage it would be low autonomous) could be a robot, and it could lift several tons...

How powerful is its G-drive? (Picturing the Zho floating warbots here...)

The funny thing is that is an easier answer than the Strength lifting question.

Or It talks about having enough lift to support the bot and what the bot is carrying, but not the strength based parameter....
