Thanks! I just saved both of those to my iPhone! Great for wallpaper!
In the last traveller game I played in, as opposed to GMing, we painted the group's 50dton cutter pink with blue veins.
What's worse is that I can only imagine what the cutter's dock was painted like.
That's perfectly plausible, of course. But on the other hand, why shouldn't they be allowed to customize their ships? What vital Scout interest would be harmed?

Would I be the Magnus in question?Walter Jon Williams' Trilogy has Noble Type Guys (Think Magnus), who, as a matter of honor paint/decorate/outfit their vessels in all manner of ways - interior *AND* exterior.... so, for TUs.... the flagship... or whichever gets the DUDE (DUDETTE) on it... gets all SHINY... and the other ships get outfitted to match... kinda special like.
I really like the idea... don't much play the Noble Navy types... prefer the gritty (grimy?) and resourceful Scouts.... sometimes with a PINK courier (at the last way station when you mustered out... Scout #1123 needed a new paint job, but all they had was red and white... but not enough of either for the whole ship!) Ah.... a misspent youth with Saturday Classic Movies.....
ANYWAY, back to my beginning thought (I'd say original, but that's another story...) - check out the series, pay special attention to the Captains and see if it doesn't have place in YOUR universe.... I changed mine.
There's even a unique way to look at (through the eyes of?) the Ine Givar, too - start a post if you find it... it should be a fun discussion.

OK. Just curious. Ego and all. *shrugs* Still new to all this popularity. Funny they mention it in the MTRM, but still.Yes... You *ARE* the Magnus under discussion... while I did not especially care for some of the BEHAVIOR of the Noble/Navy/Captains... I did enjoy their style... and thought that would fit you to a T.... especially considering your Blue Smoke and other ship designs...
If you're going to make an entrance... make it memorable, and STYLISH!
