imperial marine combat battalion

We're talking an orbital reach commo

I'm sure it has the reach. a 5-watt shortwave can transmit and receive all the way around the world - in good conditions. but conditions are not always good, and opponents frequently have ecm of their own. anyway, if anyone doesn't like or can't see a squad-level comm spec, drop or reassign him. he could be a squad-level fgmp-14 carrier, or all of them could be reassigned to the special teams as the designated high-speed operator squad.

(I've been led astray a bit though into seeing him just as a comms specialist. he's part of the electronic warfare company, operating in a web with the ew gigs, the drone surveillance systems, the comm systems, and the operations center. I envision net combat systems as being very relevant and specialists in those systems and the physics of em/ecm/ew will be very important players on the battlefield.)

since I mentioned the cherry-class destroyer providing fire support, probably should spec it out a little bit here.

Straight to the Black Hole of Quality(tm), Fly!

yeah ... sad, that.

guess people do use things from time to time though. a ref posted saying they used the lu hao. made my day. heh - "scouts? scout ships are pushovers" the player said ....

the battalion structure or the boats?

Boats.

MTU is TL8-10 nationalist/merc forces in an untested Confederacy, so sort of TC standards, but not really, and different ideas about force structure. Imperial Marines are not really a thing there.

Spec Ops is the major universe feature, which those snub boats excel at.
