Incredible Traveller Ship Galleries!

I'm sure I'm the last to find it but I haven't been keeping up with the goings on over at Freelance Traveller for some time. I just happened on an article there and went digging for more...

WOW!

I don't totally agree with the work but I do love the style and details.

Incredible!

(so, cough up the link already!)

Yeah, yeah, ok :) This will get you in the hanger...

...the ones that have me salivating are the series by MAG in the bottom half of the page. Enjoy.

Those are cool images. But what's an air rock? :)

:) I missed that. Could be a clue to the artist though as I recall the same question concerning some very cool ship renders on the Japanese Traveller site. I wonder if they could be the same artist?

the X-boat stuff is from that Japanese web site, and the detail level appears about the same (i.e., re-using deck plans as part of a wall monitor).

Really cool stuff, especially the cut-away stuff.

I wonder what program he or she used to do it... anybody recognize the models?

Shadows' image

Weren't the pyramids in Shadows supposed to be surrounded by exotic foliage that thrived in the exotic/corrosive atmosphere?

Absolutely. I dunno - I have always loved cutaway images, especially with SciFi stuff. Adds to the realism by giving a sense of perspective.

Funny, I was looking at the original website and hit the Forums and found this thread :)
For those interested, here is the link to the Japanese site:

There are some funny typos in addition to 'air rocks': caraga bay, tripple lazer, main flame (would it be MT without some need for errata??)...but, the artwork is first-class. You can use Babelfish to translate the site, but it gets mighty esoteric when you do...

BTW "Air rock" is "Air lock" I spent a year in japan and you have to learn a bit how the (very nice) Japanese think and talk to pick up on a few things. For instance R and D are confused a lot. and depending on where and who your talking to, you get a different accent. (Much like english speakers)
