Indi Gen Con 2007 Q&A

It's always worthwhile to show up early for sold out events with generics in hand, find the GM, and then ask if you can join if there is a no show. You won't always get in, but you'll probably get in more often than not.

Sorry you couldn't make the time for you Qstor. Alas, my schedule is packed, and the chances of moving the game or starting a second one is just about nil.

Anyways, I've opened up the sign up for the Saturday game over on the ENWorld GenCon scheduling forum. It is set in the Gateway domain (most likely in the Crucis Margin sector), and will probably (mostly) use the same characters/storyline that I used in 04 and 05 (Flynn and Ron played in 04 IIRC.)

To anyone running events, I am interested in sitting in on the event (not to play) if at all possible. Since everything seems to be full. I would like to record some of the sessions and maybe give a written record (short story) to post here or in Stellar Reaches. Just thought it would be a good thing to do.

Kharum.

Sales

Which is the best day to scout out for sales? Most cons have firesale prices on the last day - would that be Saturday night or Sunday morning/afternoon in the case of GenCon?

There usually aren't any great sales.

Thursday is a good day to hit the places that have limited stocks of things, particularly if they are being released at GenCon only (or GenCon first).

Thursday is also a good day to hit the places that have books for $5 or books for half price since some of the good stuff goes early. Titan Games usually has some good prices. If forget the name of the place that has books for half off, but I've picked up some GURPs books and a couple of Traveller books there over the years. One year, they had a couple of copies of the T20 book and the Gateway book for half off.

Some places may have some "I don't want to cart it home" sales on Sunday, but sales seem to be the exception rather than the norm.

Do check out the Auction store periodically throughout the con. Some good bargains there as well.
