There were two funny French political simulators (made by French company Eversim, published by Mindscape) : Mission Président 1 and 1 (English title for the latter: Rulers of Nations). It was buggy as Hell but still fun to play (you could play a whole lot of nations, and conduct policy, diplomacy and warfare, the official objective was staying in power - the unofficial one was to test how crazy you could get before a popular uprising).
