Is T20 folding?

I saw in the Random Static forum that there is some concern that this domain may not be renewed in July '06.

I'm not up on current events. Is T20 in trouble?

That would be sad.
It looks like it's registered to Network Solutions and will expire on July 18th

Netsol is $35/year. Sometimes its possible for people to pay the registration bill for others... the question is, will Netsol do it. The other question is, how long is the hosting for this site paid up until?

So, if this forum loses its domain, will our community die? :(

Or will we create a new Forum? If I had 35$ (I hardly have 35 NIS - the worthless local currency) I'd pay for them...

Money should be no problem, it's being allowed to pay for Hunter that might be a problem. If we arrange something temporary for this site, i think we also should get someone that Hunter knows and trust to administer it while he is gone.

Man, I hope T20 and this comminuty don't fold. Even though T20 was my first intro into Traveller, this community really turned me onto CT and the rest of the Traveller lines. Let's hope it's just a minor setback.

See the thread in Random Static, "Other Traveller Forums". Yes, we can pay for them, via Netsol (I cover the steps).

If nobody does it by next month maybe I'll pay for a year or 2 worth.

This might be the better thread to handle the logistics in, rather than clutter the "Other Traveller Forums" so I'll make my points here.

Bravo for stepping up with the offer MaineCoon, and the looking into it, but there's time yet to work this out with some coordination of effort.

I also think, not to belittle your offer in the least, that it should be some of us longer registered users putting up. Speaking solely for myself I've been getting a free ride on the paltry sum I gave for the Knighthood so I don't mind chipping in to the domain registry a bit.

For that I think the best thing might be to take a collection via PayPal or something and go for the whole 5 year deal. Surely there's 100 of us who can give a buck, or 10 of us who can spare a tenner. Heck if the domain registry takes PayPal I'll handle the collection and paying, when we get closer to the time. No rush yet, and there's another point to consider.

That is does anyone know who is providing the server support? Even if the domain name is protected, what of the server fees? Those are by far the larger issue and without them the domain means little. And yet as we're still here Hunter must have them on automatic or be looking after that manually.

I say it's still too soon to panic, but certainly time for Hunter to take a few minutes and address the community. To let us know that the site will continue or not, or the conditions under which it may continue. Barring that, then yes, in a couple weeks the least we can do is insure the domain registration doesn't expire.

How about we ask for donations based on how many posts you have? And we double it if they're all in Random Static? ;) I agree, Dan, that we give it a little more time, and take up a donation - I have a few bucks I can pass through PayPal.

So...

....is T20 folding?

I noticed that MJD took his Avenger Enterprises over to DriveThruRPG. I thought he was just expanding...

...are they ceasing production/creation of T20 items?
