Judges Guild CD-ROM

for once I think I even speak for that other Mark (who is ok even if he does spell his name funny) the dates are set on anything till they are basicaly out (a slight preanouncemnt period may apply) and of course YMMV

That is the standard boilerplate explanation, but I think it would be nice to know if I can expect it for the holidays...for stocking-stuffers. :)

You can expect it before Christmas 2012. Most things Marc has announced have been out within 2 years, with the notable exception of T5 and the reprints book of the portrait-layout books, eclipsed by the PDF CD.

If only for nostalgia's sake and atmosphere I hope it includes the referee screen. Mine is so worn and stained it's hardly usable anymore.

2012??? [CharlieBrown]AAARRRRRGGGHHHHH!!!! Good grief![/CharlieBrown]

A couple of months ago I got new ones... still in shrink-wrap... off flea-bay for a low price. Have you been looking?

I've seen some cheapies on ebay, too, but as I don't know the seller, I'm hesitant.

I can relate to that. My original JG shield got pretty tattered. I scanned my replacement copy so I could run copies to paste onto my homemade GM shield & put the originals in plastic in my GM notebook.

As for Christmas, well maybe not. I'm been hinting about Critical Mass' Protolene line of figures as a stocking stuffer.

I made up a new one that includes my own weapons and house rules, but I haven't found an original in a while. DriveThru RPG had them earlier this year for about 5 bucks. I should have got a few.

Nice stand-ins for Vargr minus the tails. The Arc Fleet troopers double nicely for Imperial battle dress too.

I'd love to see the old Judges Guild stuff on a CD.

As far as the JG Traveller screen goes, I think it was one of my best purchases (other than the boxed set LBB) except that the green color was kind of strange. Black and red box, black and red rulebook, black dice, green GM screen. Hmmm.

Does MM/FFE have any plans to create a new CT screen? *crosses fingers and holds breath* On the other hand, it may only result in a new conflagration of Grognard Wars 2.0 over errata and omissions.
