Jump fuel usage

Am I correct in thinking in using jump fuel the jump engine uses the same amount of irregardless of the lenght of jump?
So jump 1 freight would use 100 tons of fuel to jump 1 parsec. And a jump 4 freighter would use 100 tons but have the option of jumping 1 to 4 parsecs.

Nope. If you have a Jump 4 engine, and only jump 1 parsec, you use 1/4 of your jump fuel. You do of course have the option of jumping 1,2,3 or 4 parsecs.

Example: 1000 ton ship, J4 drive.
Jump fuel requirement: 400 tons.
Jump 4 parsecs and use 400dt jump fuel.
Jump 3 parsecs and use 300dt jump fuel.
Jump 2 parsecs and use 200dt fuel and so on.

Doing a micro-jump will also use the same amount of fuel and take the same amount of time as a normal Jump.

Okay, what is the formula that determines how much fuel is need to make a jump? Ie:

Craft Tonnage x Jump Drive Rating x Distance = Fuel?

Typically its:

(ship tons/10) x jump distance = fuel tons

So a 300T ship travelling 2 parsecs (jump 2) would burn 60 tons of fuel.

(300/10) x 2 = 60

There was a brief time long ago when the jump fuel was always the same (based on the maximum jump of the ship) even if you went less than the ships full jump range. This is still reflected in the (implied) "requirement" to have a minimum fuel tankage sufficient for one jump at the ships maximum range. The above is for CT and T20.

MegaTraveller and TNE used a slightly different formula that produced better efficiency for higher jumps (and even more so for TLs above 16 in MT).

Thanks I useing the turkea 1000 ton liner from Ron deck plans. When we quit friday the pcs and most npcs were packed tightly in the ships boat. While an ate up marine platoon and the remain crewman of the liner were getting ready to fight pirates. I need to know remaining fuel to see if when the party finaling get to the star port if they have to go rescue the liner. Of course considering they were thinking of highjacking the liner this made be a bad idea.
