IRIS methods were quite discussed just before the Assasination and they had to get rid of some of them. And after all, an Archduke and personal afriend of the Emperor was probably not under the label of "unrliable people", and the magnum revolver he used is told in several sources to be part of its ceremonial dress (as Archduke) when meeting the emperor

In any case, this is all a variant for the Rebelión timeline, and in no case has it connections with the MoJ , that is an open imperial agency (in the sense everyone knows it exists and have open offices and officers, probably has hot so open branches). For what I've read in this board it is better described in GT:Nobles, but Idon't own it.

I believe the Special Branch was the invention of one or more of the Keiths in one of the non-JTAS magazines or a FASA adventure.

I find an off-hand reference in the Signal-GK fanzine, issue 3.

SGK isn't Keiths, it's Jae Campbell.

Aside fro mthe various references to MoJ (with or without Special Branch) , there are two things that show such agency (with this name or another) should exist:

• All references (AFAIK) to 3I law system talk about High Crimes being Imperial Crimes, and High Justice being administred by the Imperium.
• I cannot remember about a civilization without some form of judicial system, as enforcing laws (and punishing lawbreackers) is one of the main goals of them. As Imperium rules "the sapce between planets", and crimes amy be commited there, someone has to pursue them, and it's unlikely that only IN does that.
