Limited time opportunity

If you need a copy of MS Office Home and Student, there is a limited time opportunity to pick one up for almost nothing. (Sorry, but this is limited to US & UK residents only). This is not to promote MS in any way, just to inform.

Here is the scoop: MS is discontinuing it's subscription "MS Equipt" service as of April 30, 2009. This service includes a year long usage of "Windows Live One Care" and the "Home and Student" version of MS Office. To compensate persons who have already enrolled in this service, MS is offering a pro-rated rebate of $69.99 + tax and a free copy of MS Office H & S. There are lots of unused MS Equipt on E-bay right now. I was able to get one for just over $70 including shipping. It arrived yesterday. I installed it and applied for my rebate (which should be close to the full amount as it was just activated) on-line last night. You can get full details of MS's action/explanation at their website. I received a check for $74.89 and a copy of MS Office Home & Student 2007 good for 3 installs. I paid $70 and change including shipping.

For once I got the better of MS.
