Looking for Gauss Pistol stats for CT

SpaceBadger

SOC-14 1K
I'm looking for the gauss pistol stats for CT. I think it appeared in JTAS, but I don't find it in the JTAS Index - probably just indexed as a "Ship's Locker" article. Anybody know which JTAS it was in, or if it appeared in any other CT books?

*sigh* Guess I'll pull out my stack of JTAS and start flipping pages, unless someone knows which one or alternative book.

*sigh again* Direction of the quest has changed. I found the JTAS article (#13, p.43) but it only has a text description, then weight and cost, then... "Other characteristics per Striker, Book 3, page 33."

Really? All that descriptive text, and when it comes to the meat of how the dang things performs - range and armor DMs - we just get a reference to another book?

I don't have Striker. Would someone who has Striker please look up the gauss pistol stats in Striker Book 3, page 33?

Thanks!

TL13 4mm Gauss Pistol
15 round magazine
Effective 2 (4) (Striker range in cm and Pen)
Long 4 (3)
Extreme 6 (1)
Weight 650/200
Price 600/20
Targets 1
Dex Mods 7 (-2) 10 (+1)

For comparison, the TL12 4mm Gauss Rifle has
Effective 60 (7) +3 (Autofire DM)
Long 120 (3) +2
and no listed Extreme

Which is why I provided the Gauss Rifle for comparison.

It does have the Dex mods, which is a plus.

Which is about the only thing useful for a full CT Bk1/Snapshot conversion.

So: vs armor side, use gauss rifle. Vs range, use autopistol. Damage should be probably 1 less.

And if it's anywhere in CT other than striker, I can't find it with a CT disk search nor a JTAS disk search. It may have been a 3rd party item - I don't have Apochrypha 1.

Anyway, a provisional Gauss Pistol for you:
WeaponNoJaMeClReAbBDCSMLVLDmgDx+Dx-
Gauss Rifle+4/+7+4/+7+2/+5+1+4/+7+4/+7-2/0+1/+3+2-4-6No7 (-2)10 (+2)4D
Gauss Pistol+4+4+2+1+4+4-2+1+2-4-6No7 (-2)10 (+1)3D
Auto Pistol+1+1-1-3+1-1-5+1+2-4-6No7 (-2)10 (+1)3D

This is the by the methodolgy suggested by the article on the Laser Pistol in JTAS. Range mods by form, armor mods by type. You can mix and match.

Oh, and for 1st ed CT, I'd put the Gauss Pistol at 3d+1...

Thanks for the chart, Aramis! Thanks also to all who provided data and suggestions. I'll run this by Sabredog (combat rules consultant for SBRD campaign), but it looks good to me.

To determine the armour and range weapon matrix values what you should do is:

compare the gauss rifle with the rifle and write own the difference

apply the difference to the stats for the autopistol. Drop the damage to 3d

You can't just use the gauss rifle matrix for a gauss pistol.

For a gauss smg apply the same difference to the smg. Damage 3d
