Lunar X prize...

It seems that if you can get to the moon, you can get 30 million dollars.

Well... how much did it cost to get SpaceShipOne into low orbit? (It was low orbit, wasn't it? 100km or so?)

SS1 made a ballistic arc to the edge of space about 60 miles (100km) in altitude. It did not orbit.

As a prototype, IIRC about $100M, to win a $10M prize, If I recall correctly.

He's citing about $200M to get the WK2/SS2 up and flying.

Counting recoup costs, it should be about $200K per passenger to suborbital flight for passengers; the WK2/SS2 should be able to make VLEO.
