MagPul PDW

Stats are easy, it is 5.56mm, just like an M-16, so give it the damage of an assault rifle with the range characteristics of an SMG. For Armor mods, split the difference between them, or use the lower of the two.

Unlikely for a while, at least - new cartridge designs take ages to finalise - the round for the P90 - 5.7mm - took something like, what, five to ten years to finalise to the satisfaction of FN, after all. The P90 design took a similar amount of time to get off into production too, didn't it?

HKs' new PDW and Magpuls' new PDR not with standing, more likely is that new designs of existing case sizes will come around, like the Magpul PDR, and similar.

Straybow,

The competitors to the P90 tend to be 9mm (more traditional SMG ammo) often capable of using the Russian +P+ variants on the ammo. After that you just need the compact design and high ammo capacity to fit the same role.

These 3 are close
MP5K(9mm)
MP7A1(Custom Ammo)
PP90M1(9mm/+P+)

Given that the MP5 is just a G3 battle rifle in 9x19 and the extrem sturdiness of that officer-proofed and sergeant-safe construction I'd expect them to take higher powered ammunition without any fuss.

Actually the HK53 is another G3 variant, the G3 battle rifle in 7.62x51N (actually the slightly heavier/more powerful German variant) is the base for:

MP5 including the variants in .40 and 10mm Auto
HK33 and HK53 assault rifles
MSG-90 and PSG-1 sniper rifle
G8 multi-purpose rifle
G41 assault rifle in 5.56N

and all other automatic H&K except G11 and G36/MG36. All use the Recoil-Operation with semi-fixed roller lock and if you can disassemble one, you can disassebel all (I tried with G3, MP5, PSG-1, G41 and G8) The mechanism will likely accept anything a human shoulder can stomach and then some, 300WMag was tried as was 7.92x57 Mauser

My reference was to a stock MP5 in 9x19 Parabellum, taken from the Police armory and load with higher-charged ammo. From the construction and over-dimensioning of the weapon compared to an UZI I'd say the weapon should take it.

HK53 is very close in size to the M4, or at least the 8-10.5" barrel SBR variants.

This is a whole new class, although a SBR Tavor comes close.

Recoil concerns are overstated. 5.56x45 recoils no more than .45 ACP. Muzzle blast will be awesome.

Note they can also offer it in 6.8 SPC, drool.

I like it better than the Magpul Masada, which is saying quite a bit.
