Marc Miller-approved new ship art/mini designs

If you're a fan of Traveller, this picture should make your central circulatory organ thump a little harder.

The amber-colored ships are Aslan, and this is the first time the smallest Zhodani ship and the Imperial Atlantic cruiser have been rendered all the way through.

If you're a follower of our Patreon (http://www.patreon.com/StarShipsRUs), there will be something special up for you tomorrow!

Nothing there that my players would ever see...... Except maybe the very smallest of the ships....

I get it. Classic designs from the 70's books. I was hoping to see more of the Bryan Gibson designs. seen in T4 & T20 ship books.
Like the Perisher Dreadnought, Diaspora Class Battlecruiser, Huron bombardment cruiser, Lorimar Strike Carrier, etc.
But also the adventure class ships: Gazelle close escort, Safari ship, Quasar Scout cruiser, and the various Merc Cruisers.

You're right. Nobody even knows about the Azhanti High Lightnings ... If only GDW had done a complete boxed game about them ...

OMG! I read "Azhanti High Lightning" had just had a total flashback to the 80s! Like it was a trigger phrase or something. Wow....

So, when was the last time in a game that an AHL cruiser was involved in a ship to ship action?

For me, it was 1993 or so, using MT rules (but the HG USP rather than an MT redesign). It was an aggressor - specifically, the Bard Endeavour.

Also, there was a module for MT that made use of one...

But, mind you, Power Projection Fleet players probably use them fairly often...

Ship Type, Class Name, Spec's?

Bard Endeavour and Arrival Vengeance are both AHL class ships - tho different subclasses.

I also forgot; I also had players interacting with the Emissary (owned by Oberlindes) during the rebellion.

I ran a campaign where the players were still in active service. They were the "odd job squad" for an Imperial fleet (dreadnaughts, battleriders, cruisers, etc). Individual missions (adventures) included damage control, search & rescue, courier duty, an impromptu murder investigation ...

The point is, you don't have to think of big ships as ships that are inappropriate for player characters, you can think of them as mobile bases from which player characters can operate and adventure settings in their own right.

Woot! New ships to add to my fleets!!

OK, I recognise the 75 kdt Atlantic-class heavy cruiser (although I admit to thinking it was longer and less pointy at the prow!):

I *don't* recognise the one to the right of the Gionetti. Missile cruiser?

The next one is the classic 5000-ton P. F. Sloan-class Fleet Escort, as detailed by Marc himself in Challenge #25. *drool*

The Aslan ships are new. They're not FASA's Hero- nor Intruder-class. Be interesting to see what they are.

Dunno what the smallest Zho ship is, either. :-( TELL US MORE!!

I am going to take a guess and say that is a Skimkish Class Light Carrier (29kton) - CT:Supplement 9 (p.34).

EDIT: I also think they need to do a Ghalalk Class CA - That one was always my favorite.
