Miniatures and Models

I think it is around 1/48th scale. The model itself is nearly 30+" long. The other pictures now posted show it on the photostand in front of a blue backdrop. The figures in the cockpit are 1/48th scale. The model is MDF bulkhead shapes plated with styrene plates and detailing. This model currently needs to have the bridge canopy finished and the landing gear done.

I have been thinking of doing this one again, but with better solutions to the landing gear and having the front lower nose be able to open into the cargo bay. I also need to build up around the turrets a bit. Kinda want to do a super detailed one, with interiors.

That's some great space modeling there, Rraurgrimm. Is that your site?
Naaah, I barely managed to build a few of the designs there. Had some problems with the conversion to the A4 format, though.

Cool! You might consider using foam core board when you do. I bet that MDF makes the model pretty heavy. Many modelers are now using foam core (available at artist supply stores and Michaels) for structural components. Very good strength to weight ratio, and it can be laminated for even greater strength. It also accepts a wide variety of adhesive/cement/glue options. I intend to use it for my upcoming 20dton gig and Sulieman-Class builds.
