[Miniatures] Return of Martian Metals?

SgtHulka

In case anyone missed it, RAFM is producing a "new" line of 15mm Grav Tanks, APC's, ATV's, and Air/Rafts:

RAFM 15mm Grav Tanks

I'm no expert on the subject, but these look a lot like the pictures on the Martian Metals Traveller Bibilography page. I had heard that Martian Metals burned down, and the molds were destroyed in the fire, but it appears that the vehicle molds, at least, are still around, and that RAFM somehow acquired them.

I particularly like the Grav APC interior pack.

Well, I recently got a set of 15mm minis, and that attack car was one of them.

Take that as you will...

I glad to see RAFM back. Along with Ral Partha, they were my two favorite mini companies.

The grav tank is very nice-but outside my budget. Guess I'll have to stick to scratch built
for awhile. Are the rest of their SF minis 15mm? They don't specify. If they are I would be sorely tempted.

As for Martian Metals, check out Stan Johansen Miniatures (www.stanjohansenminiatures.com).
Under their 15mm Star Armour they carry 10 figure adventurers set that is part of the old MM Traveller figure line. That also where I pick up my armed dinosaur figures (the ones that pop up on ebay all the time).

Not bad, though it could use more grav vehicles besides tanks. Then there is the cost of shipping. Good site, with photos, though. Most British online gamestores are weak on photos. Main reason I never ordered the Peter Pig space pirates in 15mm is I could see examples-even their American distributors didn't have photos.

There is also U.S. based DLD Productions (www.dldproductions.com) which has resin vehicles in 15mm scale, though their designs are limited, few heavies & little grav that are even cheaper. They also have a starship section suitable for Traveller campaigns.
