Miniatures (Ships and character)

cooks

SOC-3
Any folks here familiar with some of the ships that GZG (Ground Zero Games) produces?

Some of them, in fact a fair few of them look to be based around 2300AD and look well suitable for our game.

In fact their character figures are pretty cool also :)

I've picked up a couple of their UNSC ships especially the ones with solar vanes on and am making a larger ship as a hybrid and looking to create stats for it.

Anyone know of any cool minis that are close to the alien races/ships?

Many years ago in a magazine whose name escapes me and in an article I have yet to find again, someone came up with detailed instructions on how to make your own 2300ad minis for the starships. I have been trying to find the arcticle but have had not luck. By the way it was not in the Challenge magazine or any of the other Traveller magazines.

Some of the Jovian Chronicles ship miniatures would work. Some even have spin habitats. I'm not sure what is still available, but you can check at Dream Pod 9.

I believe the Kravak, also by Ground Zero Games, IIRC, can pass for the Kafers.

I used miniatures from Pig Iron Productions as Legionnaires and they looked great!

I cannot for the life of me who did them but I once visited spirit games in burton-on-trent, UK and found loads of miniatures that could be used for 2320AD. I also used them for my 'home brew' AvP RPG using the BRP system.
The first set I got was loads of soldiers (some were corpses lying down). what made me notice them was that they were carrying SG-77's, SK-19's, and Kurita plasma guns.(25mm)
The second set was a bunch of soldiers in heavy but baggy gear wearing 'gas masks' and 'goggles' (I use the terms loosely here) and sporting heavy guns. (28mm) You didn't really need milliput or anything for them to 'resemble' Kafers.
The different in sizes suited them perfectly.
Anyone else seen these?

Hmm. I may have to order some later in the year, and pick them up when I'm back visiting family in Northern Ireland. If they're that good... let us know?

Are you thinking of the Denizen miniatures range which carried 2300ad weapons and had many figures in Zhodani style armour as well as the masked figures talked about?

Spot on! Thanks...I've got about 30 of them. Can't paint for toffee though...
