Lexus has a new commercial that features a swarm of miniature quad rotor robots flocking in sequence, forming a number of interesting coordinated patterns in the air.

Reading the section in "Traveller 1248 Out of the Darkness" on the Virus.

Got a bad case of the willies for a moment.

Not my favorite T20 works. T1248 takes the improvement in Virus to a ridiculous level. The original concept was a heightened but imperfect technology/sentient silicon lifeform experiment turned wrong. The Virus entities we're as much in conflict with each other as everyone else. A doomsday weapon? Sure. But with limitations. IMTU I tossed the T1248 scenario and started an alternate view. The virus can be a great enemy (this was written in the years of the Borg and in the light of works like the Berserkers). Many refs reduce it to semi/non-sentient machine virus, but it can be fun with a different perspective. Some Virus has adapted to become the Dragons of AD&D, others insist a motherly approach, etc.

I'd like to add that it depends on the order you read items in. TNE has some good Virus adventures.
