My LWBs

I purchased my CT CD about a week ago as well, and checking out the two examples saundby gave, I'm not sure I am seeing them now. Scout is a decent scan and I can copy/paste text from it. I can search it as well. Same with Adventure 0. Perhaps I am not understanding what is meant by 'no OCR' or 'light OCR' though, because there seems to be OCR to me.

It sounds like it has been corrected. No OCR means you just get an image file with no cuttable/pasteable text (Adventure 0 on my disk is like this.) I'm not sure about "light OCR", but the cut/paste text on my LBB6 is severely garbled. Here's a sample of some of the better text:
RMllOnms: Some characters may receive promotions reflectiw their work qualify
and rssponsibility. Scouts serving in the Field do not receive promotions: those in
the Bureaucracy can achieve promotions to a variety of ranks.
Two tvoes of rank ars oossible: ordinarv rank and administrator rank. Ordinarv
rank corrisponds to enlisted rank: adminiaiativs rank corresponds to commissioned
officer rank.
Here's what the text looks like:

If this and other fixes have been applied to the CDs, that information should be promulgated. I'm not the only one that has money waiting on this question.

Note: Most of the material on my CD is fine. I'm still happy with the purchase of it--very much so. I'd like to get clean copies of that fraction of the material that's not so good, and I'd like assurance that I'll get that if I get a new disk. I don't mind paying "a second time", after all, I buy newer updated versions of apps, too (iLife, MS Office, OS X, etc.) So I think there just needs to be clear info on what's shipping now and how it compares (CT CD 2010 edition, click here for version notes...includes new improved scan of Scouts with full OCR...etc.)

Using free software and a duplex laser printer I have found a way to make booklet versions of the Traveller books and they look great. I always wanted hard copies. Thank you for inspiring me.

Awesome! A physical book is so much better than reading from a monitor. :D
