mega-traveller
SOC-7
Well, Here are my thoughts on the new, canon Traveller Product:
01) I like the systemless design
02) bring the Imperium out of the Virus era
03) bring the Imperium out of the Rebellion era
04) EVEN if it means destroying the old Imperium
05) I'm not opposed to a new, 4th Imperium
06) Dont know how the new Imperium should be set
up
a) keep the Aristocracy?
b) Some other form of Government?
c) Representative Democracy??
d) Central Government, with Single person
with power and a committee (Moot?) that
can veto with 2/3's + 1 votes
e) Committee can change the Noble Single
Person to a new Family (much like the
House of Commons can change the Royal
Family in England)
07) Expand upon the Nobility (if it still exists)
08) Expand upon the Imperial Navy & its roll
09) Expand upon the Sector & Sub-Sector Navies
10) Expand upon Letters of Marque (I think this
Era would be a good environment for LoM's)
11) I think some Pocket Empires from TNE would
be High Tech Pockets - advancing the calendar
equals advancing the TL (in some cases)
12) Expand the Scouts to include a 'Recovery'
Branch - they re-establish contact and
help bring fallen worlds back into the main
stream in regards to technology and trade
Just some thoughts... I'm sure I'll have more.
If these have been covered, I appologise.
It just seems everyone is concentrating on the K'Kree - that's the impression from the TNE and the TML mailing listings.
I just want to see *other* aspects of the Imperium dealt with as well.
Honestly, I'll buy it - technically, I already have. I own every version of Traveller that exists, and most of the 'big' magazines as well,
and almost every book that was ever published for each era of Traveller.
The above is just a wish-list.
While the K'Kree seem to be central to the 1248 version, I've always considered Traveller to be Human-centric (whereas, for instance, Star Wars is a homogeneous mixture of Humans and Xeno life forms), and I'm not sure how I feel about the K'Kree being so centrally figured.
